Pulled an old album from the archives this week and have been listening to it and just grooving and grooving. This one blew my 18 year old mind… I played the grooves off of it and drove my roommates nuts. I’d have to say, TUTU converted me from a pop dork to jazz fiend.
The #illustration is posterized from the album cover and illustrated in adobe draw on my iPad. I took the type from a found Google image of the Japanese TUTU release. I thought the characters gave it stronger graphic weight.
I’m torn on the color palette. While the illustration is always burgundy/ brown and negative space, I think each of the background colors offers a unique look.
