Captain S

I bring to you, Captain, a man with heavy heart.
Lacking in faith, lost to his world, he needs your art.
Hold his soul and break the bondage from this fear.
Give back his voice so the world can hear.

His ship lists long – a swell of a violent, dark night.
Standing on the bow we kneel and pray for light.
The crows nest is vacant and the sails have torn.
Faith in man, faith in life, trust is worn.

I step away to let you work with his heart
To the stern of the ship I take my part
To bow to your love and the point of your grace
He must follow your word in faith and by face.

I bring to you, Captain, a broken man with a damaged heart;
Lacking in faith, lost to his world, he needs your art.
Hold his heart and break the bondage from its fear.
Give him his voice so the world can hear.
